Rothenberg Christmas Market

Last weekend (Nov.28th), we went back to Rothenberg with the Borden family, to enjoy the Christmas Market before the guys left for the field. (This is Holly) There were some amazing craftsmen there and it was great to get into the Christmas spirit!
It was a fairly cold day, we took advantage of the hot drinks, enjoying gluwein (a hot spiced red or white wine), coffee and hot chocolate!

We let the guys push the double strollers over all the cobbleston!

Of course we had to get another picture with the huge teddy bear!

Thanksgiving!

We had Thanksgiving with the platoon! Holly and I did most of the cooking for it, but some of the soldiers brought some wonderful food as well! The kids played together and we had a great time being together.

Papa and Nona Kent come to Germany!

It was so great to have my parents come visit and meet Ian! We had new places to explore since we have moved to Schweinfurt, Germany. We had such a great time visiting with them!

We took a twilight walk through our small town of Geldersheim.
These two pictures were taken on our trip to Rothenberg, Germany. It is a historical town that has been preserved with all the old buildings, cobblestone, massive cathedral and town square. They have a fabulous dessert item Rothenberg is known for, the schneeballen. The town is preserved inside a wall and you can walk the entire city on the wall. We didn't because of the stroller, but wanted to get a picture of them on it anyway.

We also went to Bamberg, Germany which is about 30 minutes from our house. We had lunch in a pub and the food was very good!

There was a farmer's market in downtown Schweinfurt and we had to show off the size of this cabbage!

We took a trip to Rothenberg, Germany and one of the things they are famous for is their teddy bears! Nona and Korban are admiring this huge loveable bear!
Nona and Korban are enjoying a popcorn snack and a movie!

We decided to move Korban's books into his room and he is helping Nona put all of them on the shelves.

Papa is teaching Korban how to shave! Korban thought it would be a good idea to try to eat the shaving cream though.
3 Generations minus Korban, who wasn't interested in having his picture taken at this time.
Papa and Korban running around and playing peek-a-boo in the Marktplatz in downtown Schweinfurt, blowing off some energy!

Papa and Ian got some good naps in as well!

Jeff's Promotion

Jeff's last few minutes as a Corporal.
Korban and I got to put Jeff's Sergeant rank on him! (Ian was there as well as Melissa's parents.)
Congratulations Sergeant Leeper!
Jeff's promotion happened in the Motor Park of his company. It was raining outside and Korban had a blast with his own umbrella!

Halloween 2009

We had a 12th Chemical Company Halloween Party on Friday, Oct. 30th and we had some of the cutest pumpkins in the patch!
Ian snuggled right into his pumpkin costume and slept for the entire party!

I was informed that kids are only supposed to be "cute" for their first Halloween, then they can be scary. So, Jeff's platoon seargent gave Korban a "scary" face! Korban loved the face paint and he wasn't scared of any of the scary things! I think he's going to take after his dad in that department.
Here's Korban on Halloween while he was out trick-or-treating!

Ian's first bath...

Ian wasn't quite sure what to think about his upcoming bath!
He loved being in the warm water, cooed the entire time!
